What is a Canada Visa?
If you are a citizen of Latvia or Bulgaria, and you want to visit or live in Canada, you may be eligible for a visa. How to Apply for a Canada Visa
If you are a citizen of Latvia or Bulgaria, you may be able to apply for a Canada visa if you want to visit, work, study or invest in Canada.
To apply for a Canada visa, you will need to submit an application form and supporting documents to the Canadian Embassy or Consulate where you reside. The application process can take up to four weeks.

Requirements for a Canadian Visa
If you are a citizen of Latvia or Bulgaria, and you want to travel to Canada, you need to have a valid visa. There are different types of Canadian visas that you can get, depending on your nationality.
Latvian citizens can get a temporary Canadian visa if they are travelling for business or pleasure. To get this type of visa, you must apply through the Canadian Embassy in Riga.
Bulgarian citizens can also get a temporary Canadian visa if they are travelling for business or pleasure. However, to get this type of visa, you must first submit an application to the Canadian Embassy in Sofia. Then, the Embassy will contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa to determine if you qualify for a temporary or permanent Canadian visa.
If you are a Latvian citizen and you do not have enough money to pay for your trip home if your visa is cancelled, DFAIT may be able to provide financial assistance. You should contact the Embassy in Riga or the Embassy in Sofia for more information about getting a Canadian visa.
Types of Visas: Temporary, Permanent, Study, and Business
If you are a citizen of Latvia or Bulgaria, and you want to come to Canada for a temporary visit, you may be able to get a temporary resident visa.
A temporary resident visa is good for up to six months and can be used to visit any province in Canada. You will need to provide proof of your citizenship from Latvia or Bulgaria, as well as your passport photographs.
If you are planning on staying in Canada for an extended period of time, you may be eligible for a permanent resident visa. A permanent resident visa is good for up to five years and can be used to stay in any province in Canada.
